I am a strong believer in equality for all. As a Councilmember, I proposed and obtained support from the full Council for Clayton to join the United Against Hate week in November 2019. Together with Councilmember Wolfe, I proposed the celebration of June Pride Month and the flying of the rainbow flag. As a community member, I have been part of organizing the recent Race Relations in Clayton webinar series to start a meaningful dialogue with Clayton neighbors.
Together we can do more to address diversity, equality and inclusion in Clayton. I am very optimistic of the recent civic engagement and the progress that has been made since June 5th. I will continue to look for ways for Clayton to address these issues so that every resident and visitor in Clayton can experience Clayton at its best. Diversity makes us stronger and there is more that unites us than divides us.
